How to add a new field to a project

User raises a JIRA ticket asking for a new field to be added against an existing project. These are the field names the user will see when they want to raise an issue under the project concerned. See below example.

 

Step-by-step guide

  1. Log into JIRA

  2. On the right hand side of the screen click on the cog icon

  3. Click on PROJECTS

  4. Key in the password

  5. Click on the relevant Project name

  6. Click on SCREENS

  7. Click on the drop down option next to the name, then click on one of the screen names

  8. In the next screen, scroll to the bottom and click on Select Field, you can then type in the field name to add

  9. Click on the name, this will add it to the bottom, if needed you can reposition it, just click on the name and drag it to the new position.

  10. You can also remove fields, place your curser on the relevant field, on the right hand side of the screen the word REMOVE will appear, click on it and it will be removed.
