How to create a linked Problem ticket in JIRA

This articles shows how to create a Problem ticket that is linked to an Incident in JIRA. Whenever there is comment on the Problem ticket, the linked Incident will also show those comments

 

1.In JIRA go to the Incident ticket that should be linked to the Problem ticket

 

2. Scroll down to the Available Operations section and click on Create a linked Problem ticket

 

 

3. Ensure the Project, Issue Type, and Incident ticket details are correct then click on Next

 

 

 

4. JIRA will load the Create Issue screen, where the details for the Problem ticket must be entered

 

5. Click on Create

 

6. Within the Problem ticket under the Issue Links section you will see the linked Incident

 

7. The linked Incident ticket will also reference the Problem ticket within the Issue Links section

 

8. When there is a comment on the Problem ticket it will automatically sync to the Incident ticket. Below is an example of a comment on the Problem ticket

 

 

9. Below is an example of a comment that has been synced from the Problem ticket to the Incident ticket
