Setting up a user in JIRA & Confluence

You will need JIRA admin rights in order to do this.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Log into JIRA.

  2. Click on the Wheel icon (top right hand side of screen)

  3. From the drop down list select USER MANAGEMENT.

  4. In the USER NAME CONTAINS field, enter in the users surname, hit enter.

  5. Their existing access will show.

  6. Under Operations section, click on GROUPS.

  7. Grant the user access to JIRA-USERS, DOMAIN-USERS and whatever other access level as advised in the request. If users also need access to Confluence select CONFLUENCE-USERS

  8. Highlight the relevant group name, press CTRL to highlight more than one group. Click on Join selected groups, the access is then set up.
