Setting up a new Scheme of Delegation in AMS

Before a new Scheme of Delegation can be inputted into AMS, the following is required:

  • A completed Scheme of Delegation table with associated values. Refer to the Scheme of Delegation section in the Award Management Manual. Different legal entities may choose to have customised SOD structure(e.g. National Office SOD Tiers). 

  • Sign off on the proposed Scheme of Delegation from Head of Awards (including review by AMS Product Owner and AMS Product Development Manager)

  • Log ITS support ticket to request AMS support team to create new Scheme of Delegation with the above information attached

    • L1 to escalate ticket to L2 for action

    • Application Owners will create the new Scheme of Delegation within the system, see step by step actions below:

 

To create a new Scheme of Delegation in the system (Application Owners only):

  • Click on 'Admin' →  'Schemes of Delegation'

  • Once on the Schemes of Delegation page, click on ‘Create new scheme of delegation’

  • Use the information provided in the Scheme of Delegation table to complete Scheme of Delegation fields within the system

  • Once complete, click 'save'

  • Inform relevant teams that new Scheme of Delegation has been created.

 

To assign a Scheme of Delegation to an Org Unit (Application Owners only):

  • Click on 'Admin' → 'Organisation Units'

  • Once on the Organisation Units page, find the relevant Org Unit

  • Click on the relevant Org unit and once on the Org Unit details page, click ‘edit’

  • On the ‘Approval Triggers’ tab, find the ‘Scheme of delegation’ field.

  • In the ‘Scheme of Delegation’ field, click on the drop down and select the appropriate Scheme of Delegation that the Org Unit will follow.

  • Once selected, click 'save'
